The first step to joining our department is to attend one of the Tuesday night business meetings. Please refer to the calendar for more details. You will need to complete a new member application and a driving record request.

I dont know anything about firefighting, can I still join?
Yes! We will train you. We offer in-house training as well as opportunities to train with other departments. All it takes is a will to learn and a great attitude.
What are the requirements to join?
I work a full-time job, will I be of any help?
Yes, many of our members are in the same boat. There are lots of calls after normal work hours as well as on weekends. We promise you wont get bored.
I heard that the HVFD is pretty awesome, will I fit in?
We have found that the more time you spend with us, the cooler you get. Plus we have t-shirts. When you join the HVFD you are doing more than joining a department, you are becoming a part of a big family.
